We love this super simple apple recipe. A treat for the kids, quick to make and ideal as a dessert or after school snack.

Try in season Royal Gala or Granny Smith apples.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter, unsalted
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup oats, dry
  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar

Method

  1. Chop the apples.
  2. Add all ingredients to a microwave safe bowl.
  3. Microwave on high for 1 minute. 
  4. Take out and stir. 
  5. Return to microwave for 3-4 more minutes, or until apples are tender.
  6. Serve with a dollop of yoghurt or ice cream. Enjoy!

As an alternative, bake in the oven at 175C for 25-30mins. Add sultanas, raisin and walnuts for a natural nutty sweetness.
